Galvanic Interaction Between Manganese Dioxide and Pyrite

Abstract

This paper examines galvanic interaction of the couple through polarization and leaching studies. Large galvanic currents, observed between electrodes of this couple, increase further with an increase in concentration of the electrolyte. A kinetic expression, derived for the process by applying the Butler‐Volmer equation, explains the trend of experimental results. The paper also examines the effectiveness of galvanic contact during particulate leaching.
