Abstract

The asymptotic performance analysis is presented for selective fixed decode-and-forward (DF) cooperation over independent but not identically distributed Nakagami-m fading channels. A tractable closed-form average bit error probability expression is derived at the high signal-to-noise ratio region. The presented expression is quite simple and general for cooperative systems with an arbitrary number of DF relays and fading environment with arbitrary values of severity parameters m≥0.5.
