New plasmonic material based split ring resonators for high frequency applications

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the resonant frequencies of split ring resonator metamaterials based on new plasmonic materials, to identify possible alternatives to gold and silver for high-frequency applications. Specifically, we show how the resonances of the new plasmonic SRR can be tuned by changing the permittivity of the substrate and identify which set up for each newly proposed plasmonic material maximises the resonant response.
