Abstract

The structure of the quinuclidine-stabilized mesyl sulfene H 3 C-SO 2 -CH=SO 2 ←N(CH 2 CH 2 ) 3 CH (3) was determined by X-ray analysis, which indicates a double-bond in the C=SO 2 group, while the quinuclidine is coordinated at a distance to the sulfur atom longer than a S-N single bond.
