Shielding properties of soft-magnetic layers for planar inductors

Abstract

This contribution presents a method to analytically calculate the magnetic shielding performance of soft-magnetic layers. Such layers with low magnetic permeability are used e.g. in printed circuit board integrated inductors or in wireless inductive power transmission systems. With this method, shielding properties are investigated with respect to far-field emissions and influence of a nearby conducting layer.
