GreenApproach to Decorate Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes by Metal/Metal Oxide Nanoparticles

Abstract

Abstract A simple method to decorate multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) with metal/metal oxide nanoparticles using metal formate as precursors has been successfully achieved. The obtained hybrid composites were characterized by scanning electron spectroscopy, transmission electron spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction method. The well uniformed nanocrystals of size 15-25 nm on MWNTs were clearly resolved. The simple, rapid, solventless, economic, environmental friendly and can be applied to decorate large quantity of MWNTs are advantages of this synthesis technique.
