Reactive Template Fabrication of Uniform Core–Shell Polyaniline/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposite and Its Electrochemical Capacitance

Abstract

Abstract Uniform core–shell PANI/MWCNT nanocomposite was synthesized by an efficient reactive template method based on the MnO2/MWCNTs as a template and an oxidant. Such nanocomposite presents a high specific capacitance of 296 F g−1 at 2 A g−1 and even 220 F g−1 at 5 A g−1 and long cycling stability (84% capacity retention after 1000 cycles), indicating a promising candidate for electrochemical capacitors.
