Specific color-pair edge detection using quaternion convolution

Abstract

Color edge detection is one of the important issues for color image segmentation. A color edge approach method is presented which can detect boundaries between two specific colors. The detection procedure consists of two steps: same-hue full saturation (SHFS) conversion and quaternion mask group based edge detection. Experimental results demonstrate its capabilities on natural color images.
