Symmetrical radar absorbing structures

Abstract

For certain airborne applications, conventional metal-backed 'parasitic' radar absorbing materials may be inappropriate. Alternatives based on a symmetrical radar absorbing structure with bidirectional properties are discussed and examples of broadband, lightweight designs are given.
