Thin Film Temperature Sensor

Abstract

Development of a thin film temperature sensor for rocket borne application is discussed. A description of sensor material, response time, substrate material, and flight instrumentation is presented. Construction techniques are briefly described. Results of rocket flights are discussed and indicate that the temperature profiles obtained with the thin film sensor compare favorably with those obtained with the existing bead thermistor temperature sondes.
