Abstract

Some aspects in the design of circularly polarized elliptical beamshape horn antennas are examined. Theoretical analysis of a high performance rectangular corrugated polarizer is presented, also the parameter study for a specific design and experimental results. Extension of the polarizer design to compensate for differential phase shift in non-symmetrical horns is considered. Results are presented for a rectangular corrugated horn with 1-5 : 1 aspect ratio giving equal E- and H-plane beamwidth with tow cross polar radiation (<-30 dB) over 10% bandwidth.
