Adsorption of carbamazepine from aqueous solutions on expanded graphite

Abstract

Expanded graphite, which was prepared from natural graphite as a result of thermal treatment with acids, was used for the removal of the anticonvulsive preparation carbamazepine from aqueous solutions. The adsorption isotherm of carbamazepine was adequately described by the Langmuir, Temkin, and Freundlich equations. The adsorption of carbamazepine under dynamic conditions was studied.
