PREPARATION AND PHOTOCATALYTIC PROPERTY OF MULTI-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES/TiO₂ NANOHYBRIDS

Abstract

A simple and versatile approach decorated TiO 2 nanoparticles on the surface of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNTs) was reported. MWNTs can be continuously coated by the layer of anatase TiO 2 nanoparticles with the thickness of about 20 nm by the assistance of salicylamide. Moreover, anatase TiO 2 nanoparticles with the size of about 10 nm are uniformly deposited on MWNTs by using microwave radiation. The synthetic MWNTs/ TiO 2 hybrids have been proven to be very high photocatalytic ability for methyl orange (MO) without any additional treatment.
