Target tracking using quantized innovations in wireless sensor networks

Abstract

Local data quantization/compression is a necessity due to the bandwidth constraint of wireless sensor networks. A target tracking method that uses quantized innovations is proposed for wireless sensor networks. The posterior Cramer-Rao lower bound (PCRLB) for quantized innovations is derived. The simulation results show that the proposed method can reach the PCRLB even with the high level process noise.
