DEFINITION. ^f(C) will denote the set of isomorphism classes of finitely generated, protective, rank one C-modules.If J is a finitely generated, pro jective, rank one C-module, {J} will denote the isomorphism class of J.We note that if {J} e ^f{C) then J is faithful, for if an ideal I annihilates J then 0 = J(
