Nano particles of Ni1–xMgxFe2O4 (x = 0.0 to 1) have been prepared by the co-precipitation method. The prepared powder samples have been divided to four groups. One group is left as prepared and the three others are sintered at 773, 1,073 and 1,473 K for five hours respectively. The X-ray analysis ensures the formation of the ferrites. The crystallite sizes have been calculated from the X-ray charts and the average particle sizes have been determined by a particle size analyzer. The particle sizes of the as-prepared nanosamples were checked also by TEM images confirming the nano-size of the particles. The relative magnetic permeability has been measured at room temperature as a function of composition and sintering temperature. It obviously decreases with increasing Mg content, and the permeability of the bulk samples is found to be relatively higher than their nano sample counterparts in agreement with literature.
