Coupled-resonator optical waveguides and mode cycling

Abstract

We discuss the design principles and the fabrication and operational characteristics of coupled-resonator optical waveguides and devices. Various mechanisms of active and passive resonator coupling are discussed and demonstrated for applications in chip-based optical signal processing.
