Superconducting YBa2Cu3O3-xthin film bolometer for infrared radiation

Abstract

We have studied the photoresponse of c-axis oriented YBa2Cu3O7-x thin films to optical irradiation at wavelengths of 10.6 and 0.83 mu m. We have developed a heat transfer model which takes into account the lateral diffusion of the heating of the substrate. Using this model we can explain the time dependence of the photoresponse of our samples. From these measurements we can calculate the optical absorption of the superconducting films at the wavelengths considered.
