Software-Defined Packet Optical Transport Networks Offering Multiple Services

Abstract

A software-defined transport network architecture with OpenFlow-enabled MPLS switches is proposed for metro networks. The results of preliminary numerical study show how the proposed architecture improves the cost-efficiency and simplicity of transport networks.
