Energy efficient QOS-aware resource allocation in OFDMA systems

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a distributed cross-layered QoSaware energy efficient rate and power allocation algorithm using second order statistics of sub-channels and characteristics of the application layer traffics. We assume a buffer for each sub-carrier and constant arrival rate of application layer traffics. This constant rate is optimally distributed through subcarriers in the way of minimizing the transmission power over controlled packet error rate and delay.
