Alamouti-based Schemes for Full-Duplex Two-Way Relay Networks

Abstract

In this paper, we propose a new full-duplex (FD) scheme based on Alamouti space-time code for the two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay networks. Compared with the conventional full-duplex two-way relay scheme, the proposed scheme can exploit the direct link instead of neglecting it or considering it as interference. Therefore the proposed scheme has a much better outage performance than the existing schemes. In order to further improve the performance of the considered system, two hybrid half/full duplex two-way relay schemes are also proposed in this paper. These hybrid schemes eliminate the platform phenomenon of the outage probability caused by the residual self-interference. We characterize the instantaneous capacity of the proposed Alamouti based FD scheme. And numerical results are provided to prove the superiority of the three proposed schemes.
