Abstract

The Harvard University mass spectrometer with the lock-in amplifier method of peak matching has been used to measure the mass differences 235 U − 206 PbC 2 H 5 , 238 U − 206 Pb 32 S, 238 U − 235 U, and 206 PbH − 207 Pb. The mass differences 235 U − 207 Pb and 238 U − 206 Pb derived from the data are compared with the values obtained using the total energies released in the respective decay series.
