Time domain measurement of complex-permittivity and complex permeability of materials

Abstract

Time domain measurement of complex permittivity and complex permeability is considered. Two methods are presented for measuring. measuring in the 2 to 18 GHz frequency band using a horn antenna and measuring in a coaxial waveguide. Some modifications of measurement scheme for the determination of permittivity and permeability are presented and considered, the required formulas obtained in every case. The measurement results of the complex permittivity and complex permeability for some types of probes are presented.
