Estudios culturales y estudios sobre lo cultural reflexiones sobre su producción reciente en Colombia

Abstract

In the past two decades the topic of cultural studies in Colombia has taken on unusual importance expressed on dozens of collections monographs, journal articles, national and international events, alongside its growing intrusion in academic and university seminars, postgraduate and research directed at the broad and varied spectrum that provides the cultural world. This letter, as a theoretical essay seeks to explain the genesis, development and consolidation of the cultural in the intellectual field of the country on the past two decades, identifying its articulation with the social sciences and the context that partially explains its dynamics. In the first instance will present a tour of various works and authors whose object of study was the culture in relation to Colombian society, especially during the twentieth century, then made an approach to cultural studies in Colombia in connection with the development of this theme in this and other continents, then we will try to map their issues, problems and methodologies, and finally draw an outline of trends, schools and disclosures, together with their limits and tensions to be resolved.
