Abstract

A new joining method for superconductors by microwave heating has been developed. Bars of microwave-joined Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O ceramic superconductors show good mechanical integrity. After a post-heat treatment the samples show superconducting transition at around 107 K. This is believed to be due to the local heating of the microwave-joining method.
