In this paper, we examine two voting schemes for fuzzy-rule-based classification systems. One is based on the voting by fuzzy if-then rules. This voting scheme can be viewed as a fuzzy reasoning method in a single fuzzy-rule-based classification system. The other is based on the voting by multiple fuzzy-rule-based classification systems. This voting scheme is used for combining the classification results by the multiple classification systems. In this paper, we first demonstrate the characteristic features of the fuzzy reasoning method based on the voting by fuzzy if-then rules. Next, we examine the performance of the voting by multiple fuzzy-rule-based classification systems. In computer simulations, we compare the performance of the fuzzy-rule-based classification systems with that of other classification methods.
