The author develops a series of reflections around the site now occupied by the information and communication technology in the lives of people, their ability or lack thereof to facilitate the deepening of human relationships. Based on the design of Marc Augé he argues for the increased existence of non-places both in real space and virtual worlds. He deepens his thinking about the ideal conditions that should have a library to become a place of encounter, exchange, personal development and social commitment
