Microwave absorption properties of M-type hexagonal ferrite composite sheet

Abstract

The microwave absorption properties of M-type hexagonal ferrite BaFe/sub 12-x/(Ti/sub 0.5/Mn/sub 0.5/)/spl times/O/sub 19/ composite have been investigated. An optimized TiMn substituted ferrite composite exhibited a wide absorption bandwidth nearly double that of conventional spinel ferrite composites in the X-band for both normal and 30/spl deg/ oblique incidence. The composite sheet exhibited exactly the expected absorption characteristics and this demonstrated the advantage of utilizing the ferrimagnetic resonance of M-type hexagonal ferrite for microwave absorbers.
