In this study, a new digital image watermarking algorithm that combines the strengths of the moment based image normalization and two dimensional discrete wavelet transform is proposed. Normalization provides robustness against geometrical degradations, whereas discrete wavelet transform achieves immunity for compression, linear and non‐linear filtering by taking the properties of the human visual system into consideration. The method is shown to resist numerous image manipulations. Furthermore, the method is easy to implement and suitable for real time applications.
