Ultra-broadband and low-loss optical power splitter based on tapered silicon waveguides

Abstract

We propose a broadband and ultralow-loss (EL <; 0.1 dB) optical power splitter based on tapered silicon waveguides. Furthermore, a highly reflective loop-mirror (R > 0.99) based on the proposed splitter is also demonstrated.
