Abstract

Magnetization measurements, parallel and perpendicular to the magnetic field have been performed on crystals of TbxGdl-,Alz.We determine the crystal field parameters by fitting the field and temperature dependences of the magnetization angle with [OOl].The 3 4 and B6 CEF parameters are almost z independent, and 3 4 N 5 X loA4 K/ion for TbAI2.
