Abstract

A new type of repeated Q‐switched train pulse Nd:YAG laser is presented in this paper. The relations of pulse width, peak pulse power and pulse energy with Q‐switch modulation period T and effective pumping rate R are derived both in theoretical results and numerical calculation results. The stable operation of the laser system is achieved and the experimental results are presented. The application of the laser system as pumping source is also discussed.
