Iterative multiuser receiver for space-time coded asynchronous CDMA systems

Abstract

An iterative multiuser receiver is proposed for space-time coded asynchronous CDMA systems. The proposed receiver consists of a matched filter bank, decorrelating detector, space-time decoder and parallel interference canceller. The space-time decoded signals are fed into the parallel interference canceller. Once the multiuser interference is cancelled, the detected signals from the parallel interference canceller are fed back to the space-time decoder. This process continues iteratively. Performance of the proposed receiver is evaluated under flat and frequency selective fading channels. Simulation results show that the system performance improves with the number of iterations. As expected, the performance margin diminishes with the number of iterations.
