Abstract

[EN]Brotherhoods and third orders had an outstanding role in the Castillian associations of the Ancien Regime. Beyond the differences between them, they both played, especially after the Council of Trent had taken place, a significant role in the social assistance to their members, at least in the illness, the death and the poverty, as it is described in this paper, where such practices are studied in associations with see in convents of Palencia during the Modernity.
